Basketball Recap: Wednesday's Win Is Stranahan's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Stranahan won the last time they faced Cardinal Gibbons, and Isaiah Brown did his part to make sure it happened again. The Stranahan Mighty Dragons managed a 62-56 win over the Cardinal Gibbons Chiefs on Wednesday thanks in part to Brown, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. Brown is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least eight every time he's taken the court this season.

The team also got some help courtesy of Esron Simeon, who posted four points and eight assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in assists.

Stranahan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Cardinal Gibbons, the loss snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 20-4 record.

Stranahan will face off against Chaminade-Madonna at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Stranahan is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. Cardinal Gibbons does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
