Softball Game Preview: Port Huron Red Hawks vs. Lamphere Rams

The Port Huron Red Hawks are taking a road trip to face off against the Lamphere Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Huron is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Clawson hit Port Huron with a six-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Hawks lost 8-1 to the Trojans. That's two games in a row now that the Red Hawks have lost by exactly seven runs.

Keila Walker spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and seven unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up six Ks.

Meanwhile, Lamphere didn't have quite enough to beat Cousino on Thursday and fell 9-8. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Faithlynn Donegan (2025) made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and one double. Hayden Gum (2025) also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Port Huron now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Lamphere, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.

Port Huron took their win against Lamphere in their previous matchup on April 4th by a conclusive 6-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
