Basketball Recap: Rabun Gap-Nacoochee Wins Going Away Against Lanier Christian Academy + How To Watch

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They enjoyed a cozy 87-73 victory over the Lanier Christian Academy Lightning on Saturday.

Despite the loss, Lanier Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Mekhi Barber, who went 12-for-24 to rack up 32 points in addition to four steals and three blocks. Barber is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Batusic, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and ten rebounds.

Lanier Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Rabun Gap-Nacoochee will square off against Athens Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lanier Christian Academy, they will face off against Bethlehem Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
