Baseball Game Preview: Nathan Hale Raiders vs. Chief Sealth Seahawks

The Nathan Hale Raiders will head out to face off against the Chief Sealth Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Nathan Hale comes in on five and Chief Sealth on six.

Nathan Hale proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Cedarcrest.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Chief Sealth walked away with it. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Turks on Saturday. Considering the Seahawks have won 12 matchups by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Seth Clark was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Teo Perala was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Nevin Pivar, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Chief Sealth lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Chief Sealth pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Nathan Hale, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 12-9-1.
