Baseball Recap: South Beloit Gets the Win

While South Beloit put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Earlville. South Beloit came out on top against Earlville by a score of 5-0. The Sobos have beaten the Red Raiders the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Red Raiders has come to flipping the script.

Richard Carlson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Carlson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Carlson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was JT Sanders, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

South Beloit's record is now 2-0. As for Earlville, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, South Beloit will square off against Milledgeville at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Earlville, they will take on West Carroll at 4:00 p.m. on the 31st.
