Basketball Recap: Notre Dame's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Notre Dame entered their matchup against Abbeville on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Notre Dame Pioneers took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Abbeville Wildcats. The loss was the Pioneers' first of the season.

Notre Dame's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1. As for Abbeville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sacred Heart at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. Abbeville will also get a bit of a break before their next game: they'll face off against Centerville at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
