Basketball Game Preview: Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks vs. Central Minnesota Christian Bluejays

Dawson-Boyd and Central Minnesota Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2021, but not for long. The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks will square off against the Central Minnesota Christian Bluejays at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Dawson-Boyd sitting on seven straight victories and Central Minnesota Christian on six.

Last Tuesday, Dawson-Boyd took their match with ease, bagging a 105-30 win over Lac qui Parle Valley. The Blackjacks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Central Minnesota Christian earned a 74-62 victory over Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg on Tuesday. Given the Bluejays' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Fighting Saints are ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dawson-Boyd pushed their record up to 18-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 52.4 points. As for Central Minnesota Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 21-4.

Dawson-Boyd strolled past Central Minnesota Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 65-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dawson-Boyd since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
