Volleyball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Centennial

Centennial entered their tilt with Corona on Wednesday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Centennial not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Corona between 13 and 16 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-16.

Leading Centennial to victory were Haidyn Achee and Mckenna Giles. Achee had 15 assists and two aces, while Giles had nine digs and three assists. Those 15 assists gave Achee a new career-high. Lexi Lee also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Centennial's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Corona, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will take on Mira Costa at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Corona, they will face off against Roosevelt at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
