Softball Recap: Taos Tigers vs. Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes

Taos had lost six straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 4-13 to make it seven. They fell just short of the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes by a score of 19-18. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (ten), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

As for Pojoaque Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-16. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since April 20, 2024.

For Pojoaque Valley's part, Lilah Herrera was incredible, going 3-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Herrera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Izabella Lujan, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Taos will face off against rival Los Alamos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Pojoaque Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Espanola Valley at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
