Softball Recap: Kingsford's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Kingsford came into Wednesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Norway Knights by a score of 5-1 on Wednesday.

The team relied heavily on Jazzlyne Shaughnessy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Matuszewski, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Kingsford's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Norway, their record is now 8-10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Kingsford will challenge Marquette at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Fliwers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Sentinels have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season. As for Norway, they will face off against Bessemer at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
