Soccer Game Preview: Atkinson County vs. Metter

The Atkinson County Rebels will take on the Metter Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Atkinson County had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least four goals, but Coffee put an end to it on Tuesday. The Rebels lost 9-1 to the Trojans. Atkinson County have struggled against Coffee recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Atkinson County's goal came courtesy of Emma Hayes, which was the first she's scored this season.

Meanwhile, Metter managed to keep up with Claxton until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Metter came up short against Claxton, falling 3-0.

Metter's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Atkinson County, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Everything went Atkinson County's way against Metter in their previous matchup back in February, as Atkinson County made off with a 4-0 win. Will the Rebels repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
