Baseball Game Preview: Delta Saints vs. Foresthill Wildfires

Delta is a perfect 10-0 against Foresthill since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Delta Saints will square off against the Foresthill Wildfires at 4:00 p.m. Delta has given up an average of 8.8 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Delta's last matchup with Golden Sierra could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Thursday. Delta lost 12-1 to Golden Sierra. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Delta saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Barrett, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. The dominant performance gave Barrett a new career-high in hits.

Meanwhile, Foresthill didn't have quite enough to beat Grant on Wednesday and fell 12-10.

David Silveira was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Four bases. while going 2-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Bryce Dowling also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Foresthill's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Delta, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Delta has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 11.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Foresthill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Delta came out on top in a nail-biter against Foresthill in their previous matchup on Friday, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for Delta since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
