Basketball Recap: Orchard Park Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Orchard Park put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 51-47 W against the Lancaster Legends. For the Quakers, this counts as revenge for the 68-53 victory the Legends walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Orchard Park's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maggie Gocella led the charge by dropping a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Gocella now owns an excellent 48.4% shooting accuracy. Ella Hernandez was another key player, putting up ten points and seven steals.

Orchard Park's win bumped their record up to 4-0.

Looking ahead, Orchard Park will challenge Sacred Heart Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lancaster, they will venture away from home to square off against Jamestown at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
