Baseball Game Preview: Jourdanton Indians/Squaws vs. Poteet Aggies

Jourdanton is 9-1 against Poteet since February of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Indians/Squaws will face off against the Aggies at 5:30 p.m. Jourdanton will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Jourdanton was able to grind out a solid win over Marion, taking the game 9-5.

Wyatt Avery was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing five bases while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Roman Mendoza, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Poteet made easy work of Cole on Tuesday and carried off an 8-2 victory. That six run margin sets a new team best for the Aggies this season.

Jourdanton's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Poteet, their record now sits at 8-13-1.

Jourdanton took their win against Poteet in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 12-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians/Squaws since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
