Kenton Arnold commands the offense for Comets win

Recap: Carlisle County Comets vs. McCracken County Mustangs

The Carlisle County Comets had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against McCracken County and snuck past 55-53. The win was all the more spectacular given Carlisle County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while McCracken County is ranked 32nd).

Carlisle County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenton Arnold, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Bradyn Williams, who scored 14 points along with two steals.

Carlisle County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for McCracken County, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carlisle County will take on Hickman County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for McCracken County, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Paducah Tilghman at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Paducah Tilghman is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
