Softball Recap: Eastern Wayne Wins Going Away Against Greene Central

Eastern Wayne won the last time they faced Greene Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eastern Wayne Warriors put the hurt on the Greene Central Rams with a sharp 11-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warriors.

Mallory Reed made a splash while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over 4.2 innings pitched. Reed was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Hannah Lee was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Arianna Harvey was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Eastern Wayne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greene Central only posted an OBP of .118.

Eastern Wayne's record now sits at 2-0. As for Greene Central, they are on a 25-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Wayne will challenge American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 5:00 p.m. on March 11th. As for Greene Central, they will face off against Southside at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Greene Central has given up an average of 13.2 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
