Baseball Recap: Peyton Beats Front Range Christian for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Peyton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 10-5 win over the Front Range Christian Falcons. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Noah Martin made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Martin was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Martin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Bryce Love was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Colton Cobb also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Peyton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Front Range Christian only posted an OBP of .371.

Peyton pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Front Range Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Peyton Panthers face off against Lyons Lions at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Peyton 1.6, Lyons 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Front Range Christian, they will face off against Flatirons Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
