Basketball Game Preview: Beechwood Tigers vs. Highlands Bluebirds

Beechwood hasn't had much luck against Highlands recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Beechwood Tigers will face off against the Highlands Bluebirds at 7:45 p.m. Highlands took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Beechwood, who comes in off a win.

Highlands will be up against a hot Beechwood squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Beechwood walked away with a 46-39 win over Dayton on Monday.

Meanwhile, Highlands faced Simon Kenton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. Highlands took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Simon Kenton.

Beechwood pushed their record up to 9-14 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points over those games. As for Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.

Beechwood was dealt a bruising 54-24 loss at the hands of Highlands in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Beechwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
