Baseball Recap: Enid Comes Up Short

Enid dropped to 10-6 on Tuesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Deer Creek Antlers by a score of 2-1. The Pacer Plainsmen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Antlers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

As for Deer Creek, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.6 runs over those games.

For Deer Creek's part, they got a great performance from Hudson Hedrick as he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. Hedrick has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Deer Creek's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Walker Edwards, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enid will welcome Edmond North at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Deer Creek, they will host Lee's Summit West at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
