Softball Recap: Danville Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Danville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Lincoln County Patriots by a score of 11-7. For the Admirals, this counts as revenge for the 21-3 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Jaycee Morse made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.4 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.

In other batting news, Riley Foster was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isabella Leathers, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Danville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive games.

Danville's record now sits at 14-3. As for Lincoln County, they dropped their record down to 9-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Danville is taking a road trip to face off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln County, they will welcome Knox Central at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
