Basketball Recap: Crested Butte Victorious

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Crested Butte and Custer County meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Crested Butte Titans managed a 52-46 win over the Custer County Bobcats. This was a revenge game for the Titans: when they faced off against the Bobcats back in February, they had to take a 55-46 loss.

When it comes to explaining why Custer County lost, don't look at Grant Rusk. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field en route to 20 points and eight boards. Rusk is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Agi Thomas, who posted four points and eight rebounds.

Crested Butte's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-9. As for Custer County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-8.

Crested Butte has already played their next contest, a 65-48 defeat against Sanford on the 27th. As for Custer County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 41-38 loss against Del Norte on the 27th.
