Basketball Game Preview: Wilkes Central Eagles vs. West Iredell Warriors + How To Watch

The Wilkes Central Eagles are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the West Iredell Warriors at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.

Wilkes Central is leaving town to face West Iredell after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Eagles were beaten by North Iredell 59-18 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 15 in a row.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 57-20, which was the final score in West Iredell's tilt against Statesville on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Greyhounds: they've now lost nine in a row.

Wilkes Central came up short against West Iredell when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 48-43. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
