Basketball Recap: Groom Gets the Win

Groom posted their closest victory since January 19th on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-37 win over the Fort Elliott Cougars. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-35 back in November.

The victory made it two in a row for Groom and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Fort Elliott, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Groom will venture away from home to challenge White Deer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Groom is facing White Deer at the right time seeing as White Deer is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Fort Elliott, they are taking a road trip to square off against Silverton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Elliott will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Silverton will have lost six straight heading into Friday's contest.
