Basketball Recap: Jake Hosman's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grayville over Dieterich

Grayville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Dieterich Movin Maroons, falling 68-45. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 544th, while the Movin Maroons are ranked 183rd).

Several Bison players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jake Hosman, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. Hosman has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Roosevelt, who posted eight points.

Grayville's loss dropped their record down to 12-19. As for Dieterich, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 23-7.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Grayville will face off against Red Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dieterich, they will challenge Sandoval at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Dieterich's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
