Volleyball Recap: Social Circle Comes Up Short

Social Circle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Athens Academy Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Redskins of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Social Circle may have fallen short, but they were sure consistent: they scored seven points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-7.

Social Circle's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Athens Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Social Circle will head out on the road to take on Mount de Sales Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Athens Academy, they will be playing at home against Oglethorpe County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
