The Celeste Blue Devils will challenge the Cooper Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Celeste has five straight victories, Cooper has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Friday, Celeste made easy work of Sulphur Bluff and carried off a 19-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Jenna Jayroe was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Emily Morel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Celeste always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .862. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, in Friday's Canine Competition, Cooper didn't have enough. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wolfe City on Friday.
Cooper saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jentry Nabors, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. That double marked the first that Nabors has hit this season.
Celeste's victory bumped their record up to 12-4-1. As for Cooper, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
Cooper's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Celeste hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. It's a different story for Cooper, though, as they've only averaged .200. Will they be able to contain Celeste's hitters?
Everything went Celeste's way against Cooper when the teams last played back in March of 2025, as Celeste made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
