Volleyball Game Preview: California Condors vs. La Serna Lancers

The California Condors will venture away from home to challenge the La Serna Lancers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, California didn't have quite enough to beat El Rancho and fell 3-2. The Condors haven't had much luck with the Dons recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

California wouldn't go down easily and took El Rancho into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 23-25, 15-13.

La Serna not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024. They put the hurt on Whittier with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Lancers as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

La Serna never let Whittier on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24, 25-11.

La Serna's victory bumped their record up to 4-22. As for California, their loss dropped their record down to 17-15.

California came out on top in a nail-biter against La Serna in their previous meeting back in March, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Condors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
