Basketball Recap: Vista Ridge Triumphs

Vista Ridge posted their closest win since January 9, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over the Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Trojans are ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

It was another big night for Jasmine Byers, who posted eight points and eight steals. Those eight steals gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brooklyn Kaiser, who had 14 points and five rebounds.

Fountain-Fort Carson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dissani Lynch, who scored five points along with ten boards and seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiyah Nash, who put up eight points and seven rebounds.

Vista Ridge's record is now 12-4. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Vista Ridge beat Fountain-Fort Carson by a score of 47-28 on Monday.
