Emerson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Denison on the road to the tune of 45-7 on Friday. Given the Mavericks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 678th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

DJ Shelton was a one-man wrecking crew for Emerson as he threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes. Kelton Wafer was another key player, picking up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
