The biggest upset of the week belonged to Granite City, who took down 279th ranked Granite City, 27-15.
East St. Louis extended the longest winning streak in Southwestern this week by beating O'Fallon, 34-21. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Flyers.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Todd Porter and Patrick Riley proved tough for East St. Louis to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Porter threw for 255 yards and one touchdown and Riley had 107 yards receiving. Greg Gibson helped O'Fallon's passing attack out by catching five balls for 58 yards.
Sherand Boyd was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 62 yards as Belleville West fell to Darren Sunkett's team. Antoine Davis also contributed to the rushing game with 26 yards on the ground.
Brandon Joggerst's team's Porter and Darius Mosely have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Porter has thrown for 1392 yards this season, while Mosely, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 31 catches for 553 yards. Brian Hill from the Maroons leads the league in rushing with 351 yards.
A big matchup in Southwestern this week will be when the Panthers take on Collinsville. At the moment, O'Fallon is in first, while the Kahoks are in sixth.
Collinsville moved up to 346 from 420 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Mike Liljegren's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 27-15 win over the Warriors.
