Streator had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-9 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Washington Panthers 2-1. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 14-4 victory the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Colin Byers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 matches.

As for Washington, they moved to 10-6 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

On Washington's side, they got a good showing from Thomas Diederich, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs Diederich has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Washington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Humphrey, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Streator will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
