Baseball Recap: Maryville Christian Comes Up Short

Maryville Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the Anderson County Mavericks.

Benjamin Paddock made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zay Cunningham, who scored two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Maryville Christian's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Anderson County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Maryville Christian will be playing at home against Apostolic Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anderson County, they will head out to face off against Union County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
