Baseball Recap: Freedom Comes Up Short

Freedom extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 13 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-11. They came up short against the Oconto Falls Panthers, falling 7-1. The Irish were not able to make up for their defeat to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Oconto Falls, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

For Oconto Falls' part, Carter Heroux made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. Heroux has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Teagan Tate was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Logan Berg also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

While Freedom had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
