The win was all the more spectacular given the Indians' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 821st, while the Rattlers are ranked 198th).

Palm Springs' victory bumped their record up to 4-9-4. As for Rancho Mirage, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-3-3 record.

Palm Springs has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Shadow Hills on the 24th. As for Rancho Mirage, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 6-0 win against Xavier Prep on the 24th.
