Football Game Preview: Hernando Leopards vs. New Smyrna Beach Barracudas

The Hernando Leopards will take on the New Smyrna Beach Barracudas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Hernando 10.4, New Smyrna Beach 5.5) so any points scored will be well earned.

Hernando is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Dunnellon, sneaking past 14-12. Winning may never get old, but the Leopards sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Smyrna Beach, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top against Weeki Wachee on Wednesday by a score of 7-6 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The victory was some much needed relief for the Barracudas as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

New Smyrna Beach didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Taylor Vance and Ashlynn Endicott. Endicott has been hot, having also posted six or more total tackles the last five times she's played.

New Smyrna Beach's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Hernando, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.
