Griggs County Central/Midkota had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Medina/Pingree-Buchanan. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 48-42 loss the last time these two teams met.

When it comes to explaining why Medina/Pingree-Buchanan lost, don't look at Chase Ova. Despite the final result, he posted 14 points. Gage Hofmann was another key player, putting up nine points.
