Baseball Recap: Poly Prep Country Day Takes Down Ranked Malvern Prep

Poly Prep Country Day is ranked highly in their home state and on Sunday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Malvern Prep. The Blue Devils blew past the Friars 9-0. The Blue Devils not only won on Sunday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 11-0).

Miguel Sime Jr. tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mateo Noto, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. Owen Ten Oever was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Poly Prep Country Day lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
