Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Moore Hornets vs. Viera Hawks + How To Watch

The Bishop Moore Hornets are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will face off against the Viera Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop Moore is headed out to face Viera after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Hornets put the hurt on Trinity Prep with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Hornets as they're now sitting on nine straight dating back to last season.

Bishop Moore was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-16.

Bishop Moore's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Heekin, who had 22 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Heekin has posted since back in October of 2024. Isabella Sanz was another key player, getting four digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Viera beat West Shore 3-1 on Tuesday. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as three sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-27, 26-24, 25-18.

Bishop Moore took their victory against Viera in their previous meeting back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
