Basketball Recap: Caprock Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Tristin Bird and Ethan Holt

Caprock Academy lost against De Beque two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Caprock Academy Eagles lost to the De Beque Dragons at home by a 56-42 margin.

Ethan Holt and Tristin Bird certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Holt posted nine points and five rebounds, while Bird had six points.

Leading De Beque to victory were Jace Graham and Burke Largent. Graham went 7 for 10 to rack up 21 points in addition to seven boards and five blocks, while Largent dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Graham has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last eight times he's played. Trenton Sandidge was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points.

Caprock Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for De Beque, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

Coming up, Caprock Academy will be playing at home against Plateau Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Plateau Valley will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something Caprock Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for De Beque, they are taking a road trip to take on Rangely at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. De Beque is facing Rangely at the right time seeing as Rangely is stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
