Softball Recap: A.C. Reynolds Comes Up Short

A.C. Reynolds extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-10. They lost 12-1 to the West Henderson Falcons. That's two games in a row now that the Rockets have lost by exactly 11 runs.

A.C. Reynolds saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trinity Poland, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for West Henderson, they pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won 13 matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.

On West Henderson's side, Ella Rousseau spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits. Rousseau has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, West Henderson got a massive performance out of Makena Henderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Henderson has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Carly Hall, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

A.C. Reynolds wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-2 victory against Erwin on the 17th. As for West Henderson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Henderson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season.
