Tanque Verde never let their opponents score on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Catalina Trojans as they made off with an 18-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 14 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Claire Achilles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Camila Canchola was a standout: she scored two runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassidy Jones, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Tanque Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
