Basketball Recap: Sacred Heart Extends Home Winning Streak to 22

Sacred Heart entered their tilt with Christian Academy-Louisville on Monday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They breezed past the Christian Academy-Louisville Centurions to the tune of 79-26. The Valkyries have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 19 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Sacred Heart's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was ZaKiyah Johnson, who went 7-for-11 to rack up 19 points along with eight steals and six assists. Johnson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 47% in the last 17 games she's played. Amirah 'Tootie' Jordan was another key player, shooting 64% from the field on her way to 14 points in addition to eight steals and five assists.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Sacred Heart was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 29-3 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.9 points. As for Christian Academy-Louisville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-22.

Looking ahead, Sacred Heart will face off against Assumption at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Assumption knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Sacred Heart likes a good challenge. Christian Academy-Louisville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
