Basketball Recap: Collinsville Takes a Loss

Collinsville lost against Belleville East back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Collinsville Kahoks were beaten by the Belleville East Lancers 69-30. While losing is never fun, the Kahoks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Lancers are ranked 92nd).

Collinsville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Belleville East, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Collinsville will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Belleville West at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th. As for Belleville East, they will take on Mater Dei in a tournament on Saturday. Belleville East has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 209 points over their last three games.
