Basketball Recap: Irvington Comes Up Short

Irvington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 34-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the KIPP Newark Lab Sharks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Knights of the 53-30 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February.

Irvington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for KIPP Newark Lab, they moved to 1-5 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Irvington will square off against East Side at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for KIPP Newark Lab, they will head out to take on Barringer at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
