Baseball Game Preview: Schurr Spartans vs. San Jacinto Tigers

The Schurr Spartans will take on the San Jacinto Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. San Jacinto took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Schurr, who comes in off a win.

Schurr will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Bell Gardens on Friday. The Spartans came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 10-6.

Sonny Aleman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Aleman was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Liam Lu was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Joseph Tapia was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, San Jacinto was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 10-1 to Tahquitz.

San Jacinto's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Schurr, their win bumped their record up to 12-15.
