Softball Recap: Freeport Has No Trouble Against Destin

Freeport won the last time they faced Destin and things went their way on Tuesday too. Freeport put the hurt on Destin with a sharp 13-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Kaylee Carroll spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Kayla Stephens was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Worrell, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI.

Freeport's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Destin, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Freeport will host Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Freeport's pitchers better be ready for this one: Central has averaged an impressive 12.6 runs per game this season. As for Destin, they will welcome Notre Dame Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
