Softball Game Preview: Hume-Fogg Blue Knights vs. University School of Nashville Tigers

The Hume-Fogg Blue Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the University School of Nashville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hume-Fogg has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hume-Fogg is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Lawson on Wednesday. They lost 18-1 to the Lightning. The Blue Knights have struggled against the Lightning recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

University School of Nashville couldn't beat East Nashville Magnet on Tuesday even though they stacked 14 runs on them in the third inning. The Tigers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 17-16. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (ten), the Tigers still had to take the loss.

Lynden Anckner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Nevaeh Mitchell was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

University School of Nashville's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Hume-Fogg, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Hume-Fogg's way against University School of Nashville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as Hume-Fogg made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
