Softball Recap: Fredonia Lynx vs. El Capitan/Centennial Academy
In what's become a running theme this season, Fredonia gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 12-5 margin over El Capitan/Centennial Academy. The win was nothing new for Fredonia as they're now sitting on five straight.
Danni Waters was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off eight hits. Waters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Waters was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and four RBI.
In other batting news, Gracie Castor was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last five times she's played. Lexie Heaton was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Fredonia pushed their record up to 13-9-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for El Capitan/Centennial Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
