Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Los Gatos

Los Gatos had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Soquel Knights, sneaking past 61-59. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Knights are ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Los Gatos' record is now 8-1. As for Soquel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Los Gatos and Aptos will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Los Gatos knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Aptos likes a good challenge. As for Soquel, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Branham at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
