Riverside is 8-2 against Holy Cross since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. Holy Cross took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverside, who comes in off a win.
Riverside is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against West Scranton on Saturday as they made off with a 14-8 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Cooper Borowski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off only one hit. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Chase Taddonio and Nicholas Bohenek did most of the damage at the plate: Taddonio went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and three runs, while Bohenek went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. With that strong performance, Taddonio is now averaging an impressive 3.5 RBI per game. Chris Graff was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Riverside kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Holy Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Lakeland. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Riverside's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-4. As for Holy Cross, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
Everything went Riverside's way against Holy Cross in their previous matchup on April 4th, as Riverside made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
